Waitrose opens in Bloomsbury

The £23m redevelopment of The Brunswick shopping centre in Bloomsbury is boosted by the presence of Waitrose

Waitrose will be the first new retail outlet to open in the multi-million pound re-development at The Brunswick, in Bloomsbury, London, which will be completed by the end of the summer.

The new store, due to open on 20 July has already created over 200 jobs for the area.

Branch manager, Neil Ovenden, said: “Creating so many jobs shows our commitment to The Brunswick and how high our expectations are of success. We’ve always had many requests to come to the area, and now the right opportunity has come along, we cannot wait to arrive.

“Customers can look forward to everything you would expect from a Waitrose food shop. Service counters offering the finest fresh foods will include a delicatessen and patisserie, as well as dedicated meat and fish counters.”

The Brunswick is located in the heart of Bloomsbury between Kings Cross and Russell Square, close to The British Museum, the British Library and numerous tourist attractions and hotels. There are entrances on Bernard Street, Marchmont Street, Handel Street and Brunswick Square.
