Business as usual at Cadbury

Cadbury has said it is “back to business as usual” in the wake of the salmonella contamination.

The chocolate manufacturer said it was continuing to work closely with both the Food Standards Agency and the relevant local authorities. It said all tests conducted by those bodies, on Cadbury products and factories have proved negative and showed no sign of contamination.

From the beginning of August the following products would be re-supplied to retailers - 250g Cadbury Dairy Milk Turkish, 250g Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel, 250g Cadbury Dairy Milk Mint Chips , Cadbury Dairy Milk 8 chunk and 1kg Cadbury Dairy Milk.

Cadbury said it would be a “significant increase in the consumer media programme from early August”. This will start with the return of Cadbury’s sponsorship of Coronation Street followed by £7m of additional TV and poster advertising.

The chocolate manufacturer also said it had npd planned for autumn which would be delivered on schedule.

Mike Tipping, head of customer relations at Cadbury Trebor Bassett, said: “We are confident that the £7m increased media expenditure and the exciting NPD planned for the autumn will have positive effects for the business of our customers.“
