New ad campaign breaks for Blossom Hill

£1m TV campaign for leading California wine brand

A new £1m advertising campaign breaks for Blossom Hill, the UK's leading single wine brand, on June 21 in support of its single varietal range. The campaign follows the recent packaging revamp of the brand's 17-strong wine portfolio.

The ads support the strap-line “Deliciously Fruity Wine”, which is said to reflect the “easy drinking, fruity nature” of Blossom Hill wines.

Helen Wright, senior brand manager for Blossom Hill, said: “We wanted to keep the concept of the ads simple, whilst focussing on Blossom Hill's key strengths. We believe we have achieved just that, and produced an ad that will appeal to both current consumers, whilst attracting new recruits.

“Our key aim is to consolidate our position as the UK's leading single wine brand and continue our current rate of growth of 22% (value) and 24% (volume) year-on-year.”

The television campaign begins on June 21, during the ad break in the last episode of Desperate Housewives on Channel 4, and will run throughout the rest of June and July.

To coincide with the campaign, Blossom Hill is running a trade promotion on its single varietals, led by its White Zinfandel. The brand is offering a range of promotions to the off-trade, both to the grocers and through wholesalers and cash and carries. A consumer PR campaign will also support the new advertising.
