Bahlsen to sponsor Parky

Posh biscuits to trail chat show

Michael Parkinson: new chat show
Parkinson sponsorship for biscuit brand

Bahlsen Biscuits is to sponsor Parkinson on ITV1 from this autumn.

It is the first network TV sponsorship for the premium biscuit brand. The deal includes broadcast and online sponsorship, branded trailers on ITV1 and branding on all off-air marketing. The sponsorship follows a regional sponsorship of Yorkshire TV's weather bulletins during 2005-2006.

Michael Parkinson kicks off a brand new series of his talk show with a topical ensemble of guests. It promises to entertain viewers with some of the biggest and best names from the worlds of comedy, entertainment, drama, music, theatre and film. The last series received an average audience of 3.9m, of which 2m were ABC1 adults.

Bahlsen marketing manager, Jon Dance, said: “We are delighted to announce our sponsorship of ITV's prestigious Parkinson show. It is the ideal combination and represents our largest marketing investment to date. We are confident that it will both raise brand awareness and drive sales.”
